Wallace Lee McIlwain

Wallace Lee McIlwain, 75, rural Grand Rapids, died Thursday, May 23, 2024, in Essentia Health – St. Mary’s Medical Center, Duluth.

          Born December 28, 1948, in Des Moines, IA, he was the son of Robert and Della (Lorenze) McIlwain.  A lifelong Itasca County resident, he was a 1967 Greenway high School Graduate, and had been an over the road truck driver.

          His father, Robert McIlwain preceded him in death.

          Survivors include his children, Bevin McIlwain and Kyle (Kim) McIlwain; five grandchildren; his mother, Della LeMay; siblings, Gary McIlwain, Jack (Kathy) McIlwain, and Barbara McIlwain, and numerous nieces and nephews.

          Per his request, there will be private family graveside services at a later date.
