Stephen Edward Mattfeld

          Stephen E. Mattfeld, 67, Trout Lake, died Sunday, February 23, 2025, in his home.

          Born March 14, 1957, in Grand Rapids, he was the son of Edward H. and Genevieve (Aho) Mattfeld, Jr.  A lifelong Itasca County resident, he attended Greenway High School,  loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and especially hearing stories about his grandkids.

          Stephen was preceded in death by his parents.

          Survivors include  his sons, Dion (Laura) and Brandon (Carrie) Mattfeld; four grandchildren, Colt, Calvin, Luke (Lexi), and Noel; one great grandchild; and sisters, Ruth (Rob) Haubrich and Jane Greniger.
