Sandra “Sandy” Lee Dwyer, of Marble, Minnesota, passed peacefully into the arms of
the Lord at the home of her daughter surrounded by her family, just as she lived her life
— with love, kindness, and an unwavering devotion to the people she cherished.
Born in Grand Rapids, MN, Sandy made her home in Marble for all her 76 years. It was there, at just 14 years old, that she met the love of her life, Robert “Mike” Dwyer. The two built a beautiful life together, celebrating 58 years of marriage filled with partnership and a
deep, steady love that anchored their family.
Sandy was not just Mike’s wife; she was his life, best friend, and forever girlfriend. Sandy is survived by her husband Robert “Mike” Dwyer; her three daughters, Shelly (Scott) Jarvela, Lynette (Curtis) Neuenschwander, and Krissy (Brian) Scott; nine grandchildren — Autumn Jarvela (Brock Neace), Cassidy Jarvela, Ryley Jarvela, Amber Fischer (Alex Nunez), Jersie Neuenschwander (Kastle Kalamaha), Breala Neuenschwander, Cora Neuenschwander, Trent Karst, and Mason Scott; and her greatgrandchildren Alessandra Nunez, Ayana Nunez, and “baby three” Nunez on the way; her brother David Daoust (Sharon), brother Robert “Pierre” Daoust, and sister Marcella (Dave) Southwick.
Sandy is proceeded in death by her father Victor Daoust, mother Elizabeth “Betty” Daoust, sister Charlotte Etlick, brother Frank Daoust, sisters-in-laws Rosalie Daoust and Mary Daoust, and her in-laws Bud and Marie Dwyer who whole-heartedly took Sandy in as their own.
She is also lovingly remembered by the countless “adopted” neighborhood kids of Marble and generations of Greenway students who knew her as the lunch lady who made school feel like home.
For decades, Sandy served the Greenway School District as a cook and later as the
cook manager — a role she filled with pride, mischief, and a heart big enough for every
student who walked through the cafeteria doors. Her daughters still hear stories from
friends who snuck down to the kitchen for one of Sandy’s famous cookies during class.
She fed people with food, yes, but even more with warmth, humor, and a sense that
everyone belonged.
Sandy was also elected and served as the Greenway Township Treasurer for 40 years and was a member of the Catholic Counsil of Women.
Above all else, Sandy was a family woman. She never missed a chance to show up —
whether it was a sporting event, a school program, or simply time together around the
table. She was the biggest fan in the stands and the softest place to land at home. She
had no enemies; she simply didn’t make them. Her kindness was steady, her laughter
contagious, and her love for her family limitless. Even in her final days, Sandy continued
to care for her loved ones. She reassured her family again and again that everything
would be okay, reminding them she’d be watching over them — and probably
wondering why anyone would want to be “down here” when things were “pretty good up
there.” Her journey to the Lord was filled with tears, yes, but also with stories, jokes, and
the kind of laughter that only comes from a life well-loved.
Sandy leaves behind a legacy of generosity, sassy humor, and devotion that will live on in her family, her community, and every person who ever felt seen, fed, or cared for by her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished. A big thank you to Fairview Range Homecare and Hospice for going well above and beyond in arrangements for Sandy to be at home surrounded by family.
Visitation will be held 10:00AM, until the 11:00AM Mass Of Christian Burial on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 in the Mary Immaculate Church in Coleraine. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Coleraine. Arrangements by the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine.
