Robert Shevich

          Robert Shevich, 90, rural Nashwauk, died Tuesday, July 2, 2024, in Majestic Pines, Grand Rapids.

          Born June 13, 1934, in Calumet, he was the son of Pete and Draga (Dubovich) Shevich.  Robert lived most of his life in Itasca County and was married to Joan M. Gangl on January 24, 1959, in Nashwauk.  A proud Greenway high school graduate, he had been a shovel operator for J. & L. mining company, was an avid outdoorsman and loved his farm and time with his family.

          He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan on 2/9/2024; parents, Pete and Draga Shevich; and siblings, Mary Staydohar, Sam, Peter and George Shevich.

          Survivors include his children, Mike (Nancy) Shevich, Greg (Amy Baumchen) Shevich, Jan (Mike) Edman, and Lisa (Henry) Meyers; grandchildren, Matt Shevich, Rob Shevich, Bethany Goshtasbi, Jake Shevich, Michael Edman, Eric Edman, Jonathan Meyers, Zach Meyers, and Michael Cuadra; ten great grandchildren; and a brother, Donald “Dan” (Marian) Shevich.

Graveside services will be held in the Lakeview Cemetery of Coleraine at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 15, 2024, with a luncheon to follow at MJ’s Lodge and Resort.
