Richard "Rick" A. Lorenz

Richard A. ”Rick” Lorenz, 60, rural Nashwauk, died Saturday, July 20, 2024, in his home.

Born June 22, 1964, in Grand Rapids, he was the son of Richard E. and Helen F. (LaBar) Lorenz.  Rick was a 1982 graduate of Greenway High School and was a graduate of Hibbing Technical College.  He repaired and installed electronic games and juke boxes prior to working in electronic repair for Hibbing Taconite for 34 years, retiring in May of 2023.  He was a member of the Lawron Presbyterian Church where he served as Treasurer for 15 years and had been a firearms safety instructor for over 10 years.  Rick and Rose Combs were married on June 24, 2006, in the Lawron Presbyterian Church.  Rick loved spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, trapping, hunting morel mushrooms, having fish frys, gardening, and canning.

His baby boy, Garrett Shawn; a very special friend, Ed Shaughnessy, Sr.; and his grandparents, Cecilia LaBar, George LaBar, Mary Lorenz, and Harold & Gladys Lorenz preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Rose; children, Nick (Ivy) Lorenz, Nora (Charlie) Lorenz, Josh (Kate) Ugrich, Amber (Raymond) Leino, and Madi (Mitchel) Lorenz; grandchildren, Carson, Aden, Abel, Ryder, Raymond, and Graci; his parents, Richard E. and Helen F. Lorenz, siblings, Brenda (Ken) Haig, Dan (Eva) Lorenz, Duane Lorenz, Robin (John) Hachey, Sara (Derek) Elioff, and Heather (Rod) Bibeau; a very special cousin, Everett (Peggy Ann) Bonneville; and many loved nieces and nephews.

In respect of Rick’s wishes, there will be no services.
