Peter James Simonson

          Peter J. Simonson, 80 of Grand Rapids, MN, died on Monday, August 26, 2019 in his home in Grand Rapids.

          Born on October 18, 1938 in Virginia, MN, he was the son of Leonard and Anna (Delich) Simonson.  He graduated from Greenway High School in 1956, was a Paratrooper in the U.S. Army, and was area manager working for the Honeywell Corporation for 33 years.  He married Kathleen Williams on December 23, 1959 in Grand Rapids.  He was a member of the VFW in Forest Lake, and enjoyed wood working and walleye fishing.

          Survivors include his wife Kathleen Simonson of Grand Rapids; a daughter, Debra (Jamie) Laubach of Grand Rapids; and siblings, Robert (Pat) Simonson of Mississippi, Wally Rowland of Bovey, James Rowland and Dennis (Jean) Rowland both of Pengilly, and 2 grandchildren; Matthew and Ashley Laubach.

          He was preceded in death by his son; Ralph Simonson.

          Visitation will be from 12:30 PM until the 1:30 PM Funeral Service on Saturday, September 7, 2019 in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine.  Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine. Services are pending
