Obituary

Patrick Brian Millan, aged 46 of Blackberry, MN, departed this earth in Bovey, MN on August 20, 2023 doing something he deeply enjoyed, out riding his Harley on a cool summer afternoon.

Patrick was born in Coon Rapids, MN on December 17, 1976 to Osmil Millan and Lorie Anwiler.  He enlisted in the Army in 1995 and completed his basic training at Fort Jackson in S.C.

He then graduated from Greenway High School in 1996 and went on to serve more years for his country with the Army First Battalion 94thArmor.  In May of 2000, Patrick joined the Union Local 589 as a Steamfitter, most recently working for C.R. Meyer in numerous locations around the United States.  He considered his friends his family, and referred to them as his “Home Family” and “Road Family.” These families meant everything to Patrick.

He met his best friend and love of his life, Christina Pride, in 2003, and very proudly made her his bride on October 1, 2012. They created their home in Blackberry, MN, and surrounded themselves with critters, friends and love.

Patrick loved life! An avid outdoorsman who was happiest while in the woods or on the water. Patrick had a deep connection with animals, and his critters were adored and spoiled beyond measure. His people will all tell you he would drop everything for a friend, give the shirt off his back, and was loyal as the day is long.  He could make any situation into a fun experience, bringing laughter, hijinks and his bright joyful energy! At the same time, he had a comforting, calming, steadfast strength about him which made others feel secure and safe.  He was simply a natural at making people feel good. He was a gifted listener, somehow intuitively knowing what individuals needed from him, and freely gave support, wise words, encouragement and his love.
Patrick enthusiastically enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and playing a little casual ball himself.  He was quite a talented custom fishing pole maker, a skill he and Christina would do together; often gifting them to friends. Hardworking, honest, creative, loving, loyal and passionate.

He fiercely loved with every fiber of his being. Loved his wife. Loved his son. Loved his friends. Loved his animals. Loved the Northwoods. Loved LIFE. This man truly lived by LOVE.

Patrick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carmello and Maria Millan; Roger and Elaine Anwiler; his Uncle Doug and Ken Anwiler; Aunties Jill (Anwiler) Hanks and Holly Litchke; and pets, Trigger, Romeo, Ruger and C.Z.

Patrick is survived by his wife Christina Millan; son Brian Millan, Grand Rapids, MN; father, Osmil Millan, Madison, WI; and mother Lorie Anwiler, Grand Rapids, MN; brothers Dan Mikulich Millan, Grand Rapids MN; Dave Mikulich, Bovey MN; Adam Mikulich, Bovey MN; Jerry Millan, NC; sisters Melissa Foster, AZ; Michelle Millan Francis (Lon), AZ; Ashley Millan Ross (Corbin), WI; Dani Millan, IL; beloved dogs, Benelli and Frank; and a countless number of devastated beloved friends.
