Patrick James Foster

 Patrick J. Foster, 57, of Bovey, passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, May 12, 2025.

Pat was born on April 12, 1968, in Cloquet, MN. He was the son of Dwayne and Marlene (Kamppi) Foster. He spent his early years in Cloquet before the family moved to LaPorte, and eventually settled in the Marble area, where he attended Greenway High School.

Pat was a Local 606 Union carpenter and proudly owned Foster Drywall for over 30 years. He enjoyed gardening, boating, riding his motorcycle, and cruising to random places to visit and stay with friends.

Pat was the kind of guy who could strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere—at any time. There wasn’t a place he’d go where he didn’t know someone. He could fix almost anything and loved to tinker with his random treasures. He found joy in his garden, growing a wide variety of vegetables and herbs. Pat would do anything to help someone—especially those less fortunate. He loved to show up unannounced for a visit and would go out of his way to give someone a ride wherever they needed to go.

Pat was quite the collector. He didn’t always know what he’d do with his findings, but he had to keep them “just in case.”

He is survived by his wife, Dida (Roberts) Foster; his sons, Dan (Amy) Foster and Dustin (Jessica) Foster; his grandchildren, Ella, Aria, Miya, Kingsley, and Aurora; his siblings, Sherri Hane, Darcie Novak, and Bradley Foster; and several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Daniel, Julie, and Steve; his mother-in-law, Jeanne Roberts; and brother-in-law, Donnie Roberts.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the funeral service following at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2025, in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine. Interment will take place at the Laporte Cemetery at a later date.

A social gathering will follow immediately after the service across the street at the Locker Room
