Norman E. Mickle, 76, of Bovey, died on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, in his home surrounded in love, with his wife and daughter by his side.
Born on October 15, 1946, in Grand Rapids, MN, he was the son of Herbert and Dorothy (Gould) Mickle. At a young age, Norm worked with his dad logging, then graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1964. A true car nut; anything with wheels and a motor was his passion. He owned and operated Norm’s Auto Body and then later opened Norm’s Auto Sales, retiring after 30 successful years in business. Stormin’ enjoyed going to car shows, spoiling his family, and hanging out with Rock and the boys at 21 and Gunn Saloon. He married Bonnie Anderson on February 2, 1976, and the following year welcomed their daughter. Norm was a very hard worker; he started with nothing and worked to create the best life for his family. As he put it, his family wasn’t spoiled, they were “well taken care of.” Norm had a great sense of humor and was very witty, for better or worse, and was the greatest storyteller of all time. He loved to tease his friends and family, and spent much of his time with his grandchildren, Alex and Zack, who were his world.
Survivors include his wife; Bonnie Mickle, his daughter; Jessica Ossefoort, 2 Grandchildren; Alexandra (Colton Hines) Sandstrom and Zack Ossefoort, his sisters; Carol Flower and Debbie Polzinski, countless friends (some who are like family), and his beloved side-kick; Daisy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law; Len Suonvieri.
Gathering of family and friends will be on August 20th from 1:00-3:00 PM at the Trout Lake Community Center
