Nita Mae (Finke) Rollins

Nita M. Rollins, 83, longtime Marble resident, died Monday, November 27, 2023, in Garden Court Chateau, Grand Rapids.

     Born May 4, 1940, in Wheaton, MN, she was the daughter of Traverse W. and Algy K. (Larson) Finke.  A resident of Itasca County since the age of four, Nita was a 1958 graduate of Greenway High School and had lived most of her life in Marble following her marriage to Duane “Dude” Rollins on September 27, 1958.  She had been a ward secretary for the Itasca Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1994 with 27 years of service.  Nita was very active in the Bovey Women of the Moose having served as secretary, deputy grand regent, was in the college of regents, and was instrumental in starting the Minnesota State Women of the Moose bowling tournament.

Her parents, Traverse and Algy Finke; her Husband, Duane “Dude;” Rollins; and a brother, Robert Finke  preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Todd (Julie) Rollins, Dale (Sally) Rollins, David (Janet) Rollins, Dawn Berg, and Darwin (Lisa) Rollins; grandchildren, Chris, Jeannine, Mitch, Andraya, Duane, Dustin, Kayla, Joshua, Tyler, Nick, Rob, Katie, Racine, Justin, Jack, and Brittany; 17 great grandchildren; siblings, Diane (Jack) Aimonetti, Lee Finke, Sandra (Jeff) Tabaka, Larry Finke, Deborah  Erven, Karen (Herm) Newton, Darus (Karen) Finke, Mark (Kris) Finke, and Wade Finke.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service on Saturday, December 2, 2023, in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine.
