Michael K. Summers, 77, longtime resident of Pengilly, passed away peacefully on
Tuesday, November 12, 2024, in Grand Rapids Hospital Hospice care.
Born July 7, 1947 he was the son of Paul and Betty Summers, long-time residents
of Itasca County. He was a 1965 graduate of Nashwauk-Keewatin High School and
had been a Pengilly resident most of his life. After graduating, he went into the
United States Air Force and served in Vietnam.
Michael worked for the Hanna Mining Company for 38 years. He was a member
of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the American Legion, including being a
Past Commander.
His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include his brother; Mark (Judy) Summers of Missouri, his sister; Margaret (Gordie) Bonnell of Arizona, Nephew; Noah (Melissa) Summers and great nephews; Luke and Logan of Missouri, step-daughters; Cathy Paulley, Lisa Fretthem, and Gretchen (Barry) Trobec, Grandchildren; Jesse Paulley, Sarina Paulley, Rachael (John) Berghammer and Michael (Jesse) Trobec and 3 great grandchildren.
There will be a gathering of family and friends in the spring. More details
