Mary Jane Unger

          Mary Jane "TeTe" Unger, 90, Grand Rapids, died Friday, December 24, 2021 in Grand Rapids.

          Born February 8, 1931 in Bovey, she was the daughter of John and Mary Jane (Hiam) Unger, Sr. She was a resident of Itasca County and had graduated from Greenway High School. After high school Mary Jane worked for Itasca County and became Chief Deputy County Assessor for several years. Mary Jane spent many years as an employee in Hospitality Management. Several years prior to her retirement, she was a foster mother for many teenage girls whom she loved and mentored.

          Preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters; Lee Hurley Unger and Rose Unger, 7 brothers; Max, John, Bill, Tommy, Jim, Lyle and Glenn.

          Survived by many nieces and nephews.       

          Burial will be in the Itasca-Calvary Cemetery in the spring.
