Luke James Serich passed away Friday, August 28, 2020 in his home with his mother and children at his side.
Luke was born on November 30, 1980 in Grand Rapids, Mn to Roberta and Jud Serich. He graduated from Greenway High School and prior to being disabled, he worked in the North Dakota oil fields. Luke was mechanically inclined, taking after his father. Luke loved to take things apart and put them back together. This ability led him to spend much time in his “beloved garage” working on motorcycles, lawnmowers, four wheelers, and anything with a motor. The sound of a motorcycle was music to his ears along with loud good music, the louder the better. Luke was the proud father of three children; Harley, Gracie, and Jud. They were his pride and joy. He took care of them, and they took care of him. Luke acquired diabetes at a young age and struggled with it all his life with his exceptional mother at his side. Together, they battled many surgeries, kidney problems, and other health issues. Luke will be remembered as being kind and gentle with a soft heart and would help out anyone that needed it. He had many wonderful friends and a community that supported him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends and remembered for not wanting to smile for any camera or making gestures known to all with a smile.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Joseph “Jud” Serich and his grandparents; MaryAnn and Jud Serich and Robert and Lenore Steager.
Luke is survived by his mother, Roberta Serich; his children, Harley, Gracie, and Jud; their mother, Rikki Pascuzzi; and many close relatives and friends.
Luke believed in one universal product we all use, “Never be without Duct Tape”.
Visitation will be 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Tuesday, September 1, 2020 in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine and will continue Wednesday, September 2, 2020 from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral mass in St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, Nashwauk.
