Lloyd M. Harbin, 65 of Grand Rapids, MN passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 13, 2020 in the Essentia Health Hospital, Deer River after a long courageous battle with illness.
Born on September 26, 1954 in Des Moines, IA, he was the son of Melvin and Verna (Wahner) Harbin. He grew up in the Des Moines area, moving to Grand Rapids in 1987. He married Muriel Kelly on December 2, 1978 in Des Moines, IA. He was a member of the Men’s golf league, the BBHC Hunting Camp, he enjoyed playing pool, hunting, fishing, cooking and playing with his grandkids. He also enjoyed working at Greenway High School in the Industrial Arts, loved his time as manager of Outdoors Services for Ruttger’s Sugar Lake Lodge. Lloyd was always involved in Greenway Sports, coaching baseball and football, and goal judging hockey games.
He was preceded death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife Muriel Harbin of Grand Rapids, his children; Derek (Ashley) Harbin of Pengilly, Michael (Samantha) Harbin of Cohasset and Matthew Harbin of Grand Rapids, Grandchildren; Owen Harbin, Graham Harbin and Theodore Harbin.
Brothers; Steve (Linda) Harbin of Grinell, IA and Ron (Trudy) Harbin of New Sharon, IA and many nieces and nephews, and his dog Remington.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM, with a 6:45 Prayer Service on Monday, February 17, 2020 in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grand Rapids, and will continue from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, February 18, 2020. Interment will be the Wildwood Cemetery in Cohasset.
