Kyle Nicholas Leppala

Kyle Nicholas Leppala, 38, of Bovey, MN passed away on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s in Duluth, MN surrounded by his loving family.

Kyle was born on December 27th, 1985 in Grand Rapids, MN.  He was raised and lived the majority of his life in Bovey, MN and was a 2004 graduate of Greenway High School in Coleraine, MN.  Following high school, he held various jobs locally as a cook and as a custodian at Greenway schools.  He moved to Duluth in 2014 to live near his brother, Adam. While there, he worked a few jobs including at an HVAC company, a garage door company and a parts store.  He moved back to the Bovey area a few years later.

Kyle will be remembered for his quiet strength, a passion for music and love for his family and friends.  Animals brought him joy, especially his beloved cat, Winston.  He enjoyed tinkering in the garage with his brothers, spending time outdoors, watching movies, cooking for his family and making people laugh.  He was an incredibly kind and generous soul.   

Kyle was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom and Helen O’Gorman, Melvin and Audrey Leppala; cousins, Shawn Peterson, Rachel O’Gorman and Ashley Hyser; uncles, Tom O’Gorman and Russ Leppala and aunt, Sheila Karel. 

Kyle leaves behind his parents, Kristine and Dean Leppala; brothers, Adam (Amanda) Leppala of Duluth, MN and Nate (Nichole) and their children Colton and Alivia Leppala of Coleraine, MN. He will also be greatly missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.   His amazing family supported him until his last days and we know he is now free and no longer in pain.

A celebration of  life will be held on May 24, 2025 at 12:00 PM in the Longyear Park in Coleraine.  Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery of Coleraine.
