Kaye F. (Nelson) Zuehlke

Kaye Frances (Nelson) Zuehlke, 79, passed away Friday, May 23, 2025, surrounded by her family.  Kaye was born February 22, 1946, in Grand Rapids, MN to Ervin and Clare Nelson.

Kaye met Bob Zuehlke in 8th grade and dated all throughout high school.  The two united in marriage on April 27, 1963, and made their home in Coleraine where they raised 4 wonderful children.  Kaye worked for school district 316 as a PERA for 18 years.  She loved working for Mary Nix in the Kindergarten classroom.

Kaye was the happiest when she was spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She loved to travel, downhill ski, taking walks and spending time at Greg and Cammy’s cabin.  She loved summertime flowers, crafting and quilting at the church in Bovey. 

Kaye was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Clare Nelson, her sister Jeanie Ann, her daughter, Cammy Shaw, sisters-in-law, Marge Nelson, Roxeanne Nelson, and Carol Zuehlke.

Kaye is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert Zuehlke Sr., son-in-law, Greg Shaw, daughter, Joelle (Art) Leseman, sons, Bobby (Nikki Miskovich) Zuehlke Jr., and Bryan (Nikki) Zuehlke, 11 grandchildren, John (Ashley), Alli (Andy), Kayela (Kevin), Marcus, Bazil (Hanna), Paige (Jacy), Christina (Cody), Bay, Titan, Wyatt, and Zoe; 9 great-grandchildren, brothers, Jerry and Tom, sister, Julie and many other extended close family and friends.

Funeral services for Kaye will be 10:30 am, Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Bethel Trinity Lutheran Church in Bovey, MN.  The Rev. Steven Teff will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Wednesday.  Kaye’s family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to St. Croix Hospice, Home and Comfort and Laureen O’Neil for the exceptional care that she received in her time of need.  Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery at a later date.
