Joyce D. Trobec, 88, longtime Coleraine resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, in her home, surrounded by her family.
Born March 6, 1936, in Itasca County, she was the daughter of Anselm and Saima (Antilla) Luoma. A lifelong resident of Itasca County, she was a 1954 graduate of Greenway High School and had been a Coleraine resident for over 55 years. Joyce and William E. Trobec were married on June 11, 1955, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Bovey. Joyce had worked at the Blandin Tree Farm, I.C.C., Beier’s Greenhouse, Evergreen Industries, and the Coleraine Library. She had been a member of the Women of the Moose and was an avid Twins and Vikings fan.
Her parents; her husband Bill; and siblings, Ron Luoma and Shirley Ogden preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Gene “Kutch” (LuAnn) Trobec, Barry (Gretchen) Trobec, and Julie (Al) Strenge; grandchildren, Rachael (John) Berghammer, Mike (Jess) Trobec, Seth Trobec, and Rileah Trobec; great grandchildren, Jack and Max Berghammer; and her brother, Larry Luoma.
There will be a gathering of family and friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine.
