Jolene K. “Joli” Guyer, 48, Grand Rapids, died Wednesday, September 27, 2023, in her home.
Born April 25, 1975, in Grand Rapids, she was the daughter of William “Cotton” and Sally “Chick” Guyer. Joli grew up in Marble and was a 1993 graduate of Greenway High School. Joli had been a hairdresser in Grand Rapids for many years. She had also been a first responder for the Taconite and Warba fire departments. She was also a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.
Joli spent most of her life in Marble and Taconite. She was a fun spirited soul who enjoyed visiting and laughing with people. She loved her time with her softball family, boat rides, and “happy hours”. Her favorite places were the Guyer cabin and the Togo hunting shack where she loved to spend time with family.
Her parents, Cotton and Chick Guyer and her son, Jayden Gangl preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Cejay Howat; sisters, Tara (TJ) Saxhaug and Jennifer (Deacon) Kyllander; a niece, Katrina (Tyler) Haigh; nephews, Reed and Luc Saxhaug, and a great nephew, Cylas Haigh.
Visitation will be 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, Saturday, October 7, 2023, in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine followed by interment in the Lakeview Cemetery of Coleraine. There will be a celebration for Joli at the Taconite American Legion.
