Jeanne Mae (Anderson) Roberts

Jeanne “Jeje” Mae (Anderson) Roberts was born in Grand Rapids on October 10, 1940 to Robert “Windy” Anderson and Gena (Sundquist) Anderson. She was raised in Marble, MN and went to Olcott school from kindergarten to ninth grade. She graduated from Greenway High School in 1958 and married Don “Butta” Roberts in1959 and later divorced after 25 years. They had four wonderful children that Jeanne adored. In the early 70s Jeanne and Butta owned and operated “Butta’s Bar” in Marble. Jeanne worked at the Roadway in Calumet and Mike’s liquor in Bovey for several years. Jeanne worked as a para at the Greenway High School for 8 years and Connor Jasper Middle School for 7 years. Jeje

loved working with kids. She worked 9 years at North Homes in Grand Rapids as a mental health practitioner where she retired at 68 years old. To know Jeanne was to love Jeanne. She would carry your burden and celebrate your joy. She always wanted to win big at the casino so she could give it all away and help as many people as possible.

Jeanne’s first love were her four kids, her second love were anyone’s kids, she especially loved her grandkids and great grandkids. Her love for children has always been unconditional. Jeanne was a very emotional person. She could not pass anyone carrying a ‘Homeless’ sign and always stopped to give them a few dollars or would go without so someone else didn’t have to. She opened her heart to everyone. Jeanne loved cooking, cleaning, baking, writing poetry, spending time with family and friends, and babysitting her grandkids and great grandkids. She also enjoyed going to the casino.

Jeanne is preceded in death by her parents Robert ‘Windy’ and Gena Anderson, her brother Bob ‘Windy’ Anderson, her sister, Jane ‘Blondie’ Akkanen, her son, Donnie Roberts, and her grandson Joey Struble.

She is survived by her three remaining children Mickey Roberts, Ginner Roberts, and Dida (Pat) Foster. Along with her one sister, Judy Mandich and brother Boola (Mary) Anderson. She leaves behind her grandchildren Neal (Sarah) Roberts, DJ (Anna) Roberts, Kendra Predovich, Angel Roberts, Gabe (Amy) Olson, Joesa (Lauralee) Olson, Chris (Kelly) Rychart, Dustin Witkofsky, Mikki Manning, Becky Manning, Tammy Manning, Cory Williams, Dan (Amy) Foster, and Dustin Foster. She also had 37 great-grandchildren that she adored, many nieces and nephews, and her four legged pals Lily, Maggie, and Annie.

          Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until the 5:00 PM Funeral Service on Monday, January 27, 2025 in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine.
