Jean A. Guyer, 75, Taconite, died Thursday, April 16, 2026 in Essentia Health, Deer River.
Born April 14, 1951 in Grand Rapids, she was the daughter of Arthur and Florence (Helmer) Steinberg. Jean grew up in Calumet, was a 1969 graduate of Greenway High School, attended Itasca Community College, and lived most of her life in Itasca County. Jean and Guy Guyer were married on February 27, 1971 in Taconite. She had been employed in several positions with the American Bank for almost thirty years. She had been a member of the Calumet Miner’s Day Committee, the Diamond Jubilee committee, and loved spending time with her pets.
Her parents, Arthur and Florence Steinberg and a brother LeRoy Steinberg preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Guy; sons, Adam and Aaron Guyer; a grandson, Justin Guyer; and her sister, Janet Travica
There will be a visitation and gathering of family and friends on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine. Interment will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery of Coleraine, and there will be a Celebration of Jean’s life beginning at 3:00 PM in the Taconite American Legion.
