Janice Lee Feltus

Janice Lee Feltus age 44 of Bovey passed away unexpectedly Monday, August 21, 2023 at her home. She was born July 22, 1979, in Yakima, WA to Larry and Victoria (Slaughter) Feltus. Janice moved a lot during her youth due to the nature of her parent’s work, she eventually settled in Minnesota. Janice worked for the Salvation Army, Grand Village as a CNA, L and M and for the last two years she worked for North Homes Children and Family Services. Janice was an amazing cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. Janice loved kids and was motherly to more people than just her biological children. She loved attending her fiancés softball games, enjoyed fishing, hockey, bar league darts and traveling. While on vacation she always liked to visit historical sites. This year while on a trip she was able to swim in the ocean for the first time. Everyone loved Janice and she truly had a heart of gold.

She is survived by her fiancé, Roger Thorson, children, Phoenix (Josh) Kick, Aspen (John) Postel, Denver Nichols, stepchildren, Zack (Pamela) Nichols, Gabrielle VanHout, Shaylee Thorson, Slade Thorson and Daniel Thorson, siblings, Christopher (Esther) Feltus, Charlotte Feltus, 6 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Victoria.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at First Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids. Visitation will be held from 11 am until the beginning of the service at noon at the church. Interment will be held at the Harris Cemetery in Grand Rapids.
