Jane "Blondie" Claire (Anderson) Akkanen

     Jane C. “Blondie” Akkanen, 79, Marble, died Friday, November 24, 2023, in Minneapolis.

     Born December 4, 1943, in Grand Rapids, she was the daughter of Robert O. and Virginia (Sundquist) Anderson.  A Lifelong resident of Marble, she was a Greenway High School graduate and had worked as a paraprofessional in both the Greenway and Deer River school districts.  She had been a member of the Marble United Methodist Church and the Marble Civic Club.  Blondie and Kenneth Akkanen were married on October 5, 1963, in Marble.

     Her parents, Robert and Virginia Anderson; her husband Kenneth in 2013; a brother, Robert Anderson, Jr.; and an infant sister, Donna preceded her in death.

     Survivors include her son, Todd; grandchildren, Karley and Ryan; and siblings, Jeanne Roberts, Judy Mandich, and William Anderson.

     There will be a gathering of family and friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, with a time of remembering at 12:45 PM on Friday, December 1, 2023, in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine.  Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine.
