Jane Pratt Obituary
Jane A. Pratt, 75, rural Bovey, died Saturday, October 7, 2017 in the Solvay Hospice House, Duluth.
Born September 20, 1942 in Grand Rapids, she was the daughter of Reino and Sadie (Pelto) Erkkila. Jane grew up in rural Calumet, was a 1960 graduate of Grand Rapids High School and lived most of her life in rural Bovey. Jane and Douglas A. Pratt were married in 1963 in Bovey. She was a member of the Bethel – Trinity Lutheran Church of Bovey and the Taconite Elderberries. She had worked at the Grand Rapids Herald – Review and been a teacher’s aide in early childhood education. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, crafting, baking, and rummage sales; but her most important times were spent with her children and grandchildren.
Her parents, Reino and Sadie Erkkila and her husband Doug on November 10, 2015, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Christine (Karl) Summers of Britt and Brian Pratt of Esko, MN; grandchildren, Mary (Kyle Beckwith) Pratt of Bemidji and Maggie Pratt of Hermantown; a sister, Elaine Templeman of Placios, TX, and her children, Pam (Frank) Kendrick and Kevin (Elizabeth) Templeman; three great nephews; and a great niece.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service on Saturday, October 14, 2017 in the Bethel – Trinity Lutheran Church of Bovey. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine.
