James L. Rowland, 70, rural Pengilly, died peacefully on Friday, August 18, 2023, in his home.
Born November 19, 1952, in Grand Rapids, he was the son of Ralph and Ann (Delich) Rowland. Jim grew up in the Trout Lake area and lived most of his life in the Pengilly area. He attended Grand Rapids schools and had worked in a lumber mill in the Marcell area. Jim liked fishing, hunting, going to car shows, rummage sales, and was an avid collector.
His parents, Ralph and Ann Rowland; a brother, Peter Simonson; sisters-in-law, Kathy Simonson and Patricia Simonson; and a nephew, Ralph Simonson preceded him in death.
Survivors include his brothers, Robert Simonson of Pawleys Island, SC, Wallace Rowland of Bovey, and Dennis (Jean) Rowland of Pengilly and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, September 1, 2023 with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM, in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine.
