Helen Josephine (Hansen) Steel

Helen Josephine Steel, 92, long time Lawrence Lake area resident, died Friday, January 31, 2025, in Essentia Health, Virginia, MN.

          Born March 7, 1932, in Menahga, MN, she was the daughter of Harold and Elsie (Nichols) Hansen.  Helen attended Nevis, MN schools, married Lloyd Steel on April 22, 1950, in Nevis, and had been a Lawrence Lake area resident since 1952.

          Her parents, Harold and Elsie Hansen; her husband, Lloyd in 2013; a son, Dennis in 2009; sisters, Clara Weeks, Marie Hiatt, and Edna Hansen; and an infant brother, Melvin preceded her in death.

          Survivors include her children, Dale (Audrey) Steel, Stanley Steel, Rick (Irene) Steel, Sue Klev, and Arlis Pearson, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

          There will be a celebration of life with family and friends at 11:00 AM on Saturday February 8, 2025, in the Lawrence Town Hall, 34394 County Road 336, Bovey.  Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine at a future date.
