Harold W. Hannay, Jr., 56, Coleraine died Friday, December 12, 2025, in Essentia Health, St. Mary’s Medical Center, Duluth.
Born October 8, 1969, in Champagne, IL, he was the son of Harold and Edna (Babcock) Hannay, Sr. He lived most of his life in Coleraine, was a 1988 graduate of Greenway High School, and attended Pine Technical College. Harold and Linda May were married in 1998 in Coleraine. He owned and operated Hannay Black Topping, had worked for Hoover Construction and had been a production truck driver for Hibbing Taconite. Harold always enjoyed all of his co-workers. Harold enjoyed driving and showing his Chevy K 10 pickup, he liked muscle cars, grouse hunting with Gregg, pheasant hunting, fishing, and spending time at the lake. He always enjoyed being with friends.
His grandparents, Bob and Liota Hannay; his father, Harold Hannay, Sr.; his brother, Steve Hannay; and a nephew Michael Hannay preceded him in death.
Survivors include Linda, his wife of twenty-seven years; his mother, Edna; brothers, Bruce (Jeannie) Pickering and Bob (Sherry) Hannay; brother’s-in-law, Rollie May and Mike (Cindy) May; a sister-in-law, Barb McNamar and a special friend, Tom Stoll.
There will be a gathering of family and friends from 1:00 – 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 20, 2025, in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine.
