Geraldine "Jerry" M. (Minnerath) Sutherland

     Geraldine “Jerry” M. Sutherland, 98, formerly of rural Bovey, died Sunday, October 29, 2023, in Home and Comfort in Coleraine.

     Born November 19, 1924, in Hoven, SD, she was the daughter of Joseph and Philomena (Gross) Minnerath.  Jerry was a resident of South Dakota until moving to Minnesota in 1956.  Jerry and Mearl Sutherland were married on February 3, 1943, in Gettysburg, SD.  She had been a Seamstress for many years and worked at Walmart for over 20 years until retiring at the age of 88.  Jerry was a member of the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church of Coleraine and it’s C.C.W.

     Her parents, Joseph and Philomena Minnerath; her husband, Mearl; a infant daughter, Margaret; a grandson, Chad Parks; one brother, and four sisters preceded her in death.

     Survivors include her children, Chuck (Barbara) Sutherland, Ronald (Betty) Sutherland, Peggy (Lester) Parks, Daniel (Gail) Sutherland, Larry (Lisa) Sutherland, Betty (Aron Smestad) Moran, Teri (Mike) Dubovich, and Joe Sutherland; 49 grandchildren; and 122 great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

     Visitation will be 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, November 3, 2023 in the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church of Coleraine.  Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine.
