George R. Olson

George R. Olson, 78 of Bovey, died on Sunday, February 2, 2020 in his home.

          He was born on May 3, 1941 in Grand Rapids, MN, he was the son of Obed and Anna (Johnson) Olson. He married Sylvia Pliska in 1991. He was a operator for the Blandin Paper Company. He was a 36  year life member of the Grand Rapids Eagles, and enjoyed bowling and golfing.

          Survivors include his children; Rochelle (Mike) Stitt of Grand Rapids, Kelli (Larry) Hamlin of Bovey, Darren (Pamela) Olson of Bovey and Troy (Paula) Olson of Durand, WI. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a sister; Yvonne (Harold) Madsen of Warba.

          He was preceded in death by his wife; Sylvia Olson, a son; Shawn Olson and a brother; Eugene Olson.

          There will be a Celebration of Life from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM, Wednesday, February 5, 2020 in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine. There will be a continuation of the gathering at the Blackberry Store.
