Gary G. Lawson, 74, former Taconite resident, died Sunday, October 15, 2023, in the Grand Itasca Hospital, Grand Rapids.
Born June 30, 1949, in Grand Rapids, he was the son of Kenneth D. Lawson and Kathleen “Babe” (Casadonte) Sigfrinius. Gary grew up in Taconite and was a 1967 graduate of Greenway high school. He was a graduate of ICC and Bemidji State University. He retired from the State of Minnesota probation department. Gary and Patricia Rhoades were married on July 3, 1975, in Las Vegas. Gary served with the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam War and was a member of the Taconite American Legion Post.
His mother, Babe Sigfrinius and his wife, Pat preceded him in death.
Survivors include his children, Anthony, Joseph and Katy Lawson; his father; Kenneth D. Lawson, grandsons, Keegan and Patrick; and siblings, Kenneth (Paula) Lawson, Donald “Ace” (Cami) Lawson, Kathy (Frank) Peluso, and Jim “Bird” (Kelly) Lawson.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Friday, October 20, 2023, in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery of Coleraine.
