Elizabeth "Lissa" M. (Gareri) Bogdanovich

          Elizabeth M. “Lissa” Bogdanovich, 92, longtime Bovey resident died Thursday, January 23, 2025, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Duluth.

          Born July 20, 1932, in Dobbs Ferry, NY, she was the daughter of Domenick and Anna Gareri.  Lissa was a Greenway High School graduate and married John Bogdanovich on February 27, 1954, in Bovey.  Lissa was an active member of the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church of Coleraine its C.C.W and Mission Group.  She had been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Women of the Moose, and the Bovey Senior Club.  She was a home maker and had worked in the Van Dyke and Connor Jasper Schools as a classroom, lunchroom, and playground aide for many years.

          She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; a son, Michael; a grandson, Neil Haapala; and siblings, Joe and Jim Gareri.

          Survivors include her children, Robert Bogdanovich, Anthony Bogdanovich, and Anna Marie (Bill) Bergeland; and four grandchildren, Jenna, Ali, Kayla, and Domenick.

          Visitation will be 9:30 AM until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial on  Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church of Coleraine.
