On the morning of June 1st, 2022, Elizabeth “Bette” Sigfrinius passed away peacefully surrounded by family.
She was born to Robert and Ada Herdman on September 4, 1928. She graduated from Greenway High School in 1946, married Allen Sigfrinius in 1949 and they founded Mesaba Oil Company. Together they had three children. For many years they had a cabin on Twin Lakes and enjoyed going camping during opening fishing season. She raised her family in Marble, but most recently lived in Colony Square in Grand Rapids where she made many new friends and enjoyed having daily coffee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert & Ada Herdman; her husband Allen Sigfrinius; and her brothers; Lloyd, Leroy and Dean Herdman.
She is survived by her sons Robert of Grand Rapids, MN, Gary (Gail) of Forest Lake, MN and William Sigfrinius of Bovey, MN. Five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Per Bette’s wishes, there will be no formal service.
