Obituary

Eino A. Miettinen, 78 of Squaw Lake, MN died on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth.

He was born on June 20, 1944, in Grand Rapids, MN the son of Albert and Hulda (Salmonson) Miettinen. He grew up in Proctor, MN graduating from the Proctor High School. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country, and later moved to Proctor where he was a mechanic for the railroad. After his retirement he moved to Squaw Lake, where he enjoyed his retirement for the last 13 years. He also enjoyed 4 wheeling and fishing and was a member of the American Legion and the VFW Post of Deer River and Proctor.

Survivors include his brothers; Robert “Bob” (Theresa) Miettinen of Andover, MN, Gary Miettinen of Cass Lake, MN and John Miettinen of Squaw Lake, MN and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Don Miettinen.

Per Eino’s request, there will be a gathering of family and friends at a later date.
