Dr. Paul "Doc" D. O'Brien

Dr. Paul D. “Doc” O’Brien, 75 of Bovey, died on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, in the Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital.

          Born on October 16, 1947, in Grand Rapids, MN he was the son of Dillon and Marian (Anderson) O’Brien. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving stateside during the Vietnam era. He grew up in Marble but lived most of his life in Bovey. He spent his summers on Lake Winnie, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, he would fish more days a week than he worked.

          Survivors include his children; Christopher (Makeesha) O’Brien of Rosenberg, TX, Erin (Kjirsten) O’Brien of Brooklyn Park, MN and Shawn (Leslie) O’Brien of Hermantown, MN. 3 Grandchildren; Xander, Molly and Kailey O’Brien, and his siblings; Jan (Tom) Clemens of Emily, MN, Larry (Mary Kay) O’Brien of Grand Rapids, MN and Nancy (Rich) Haas of Henderson, MN.

          He was preceded in death by his parents.

          There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends from 2:00-5:00 PM on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Coleraine.
