Donald A. Miettinen

Donald A. Miettinen, age 75 of Squaw Lake, MN, passed away on August 9, 2022 at the Homestead Nursing Home in Deer River, MN.  He was born in Duluth, MN, on August 4, 1947, to Albert and Hulda (Salmonson) Miettinen.  Don grew up in the Proctor, MN area and attended high school there.  He spent some time living in the Twin Cities and worked as an over the road truck driver.  Don enjoyed his work as it brought him all over the country.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved seeing his grandkids.  Don retired and spent his time at his home in Squaw Lake.  As Don liked to say, “No more worries, no more fears...”. 

Donald is survived by his daughters; Amy Miettinen-Harrod and Jennifer (Mark) Johnson, brothers; Eino Miettinen, Robert (Terry) Miettinen, Gary Miettinen and John Miettinen, his grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents.
