Donald Lee Campbell

                    Donald L. Campbell, 77 of rural Bovey, died on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, in his home.

                   Born on October 24, 1947, in Grand Rapids, MN he was the son of Eugene and Leona (Card) Campbell. He attended Greenway High School, graduating in 1966. Married Susan LaMont on March 16, 1967, in South Dakota. Donald started working for Butler Taconite in 1968 and then went to Hanna mining in Keewatin where he retired after 32 years with National Steel Pellet Company. Farming was Donald’s passion; he grew up on a farm and continued with both beef and dairy farming. He also enjoyed deer hunting and fishing.

                   Survivors include his children; Donna Johnson, Bev Campbell, Steve Campbell and Brian (Amanda) Campbell, Brother; George (Kathy) Campbell and Sister; Rebecca (Stan) McNamara; grandchildren, Austin, Alissa and Ashley Johnson, Danielle, Dylan, Hannah and Brilee Campbell, Alex Otterein and Hartleigh Campbell; and great-grandchildren, Alexis, Audrey, Braden, Amelia, Paxstyn, Solomon, Donovan, Cardyn and Aleaha.

                   He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Susan, a brother, Billy Campbell and a nephew, George Campbell.

                   The family would like to add a special thank you to brother-in-law Steven LaMont and sister-in-law Linda Johnson for your generosity with all the help you gave to Don, Susie and the family over the years.

                   There will be a celebration of life gathering of family and friends on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM  in the Lawrence Township Hall; 34400 County Road 336, Bovey, MN.  Interment will be at a later date in the Lakeview Cemetery of Coleraine.
