Daniel "Wang" J. Guyer

Daniel John “Wang” Guyer, died Wednesday, December 18, 2019.

            He was born in Grand Rapids, MN on July 21, 1956. Dan was an avid, or as Doris says, a “rabid” sports fan. He was incredible with numbers and could give you stats on all sports teams. It was amazing to witness. He loved his Minnesota Vikings (SKOL) and the Twins. Dan loved his Greenway High School sports teams with a passion, very rarely missing a football or hockey game.

            Dan was very proud of his Taconite roots and loved everyone that lives there, and considered them all family. He was a member of the Taconite Sons of American Legion Post #301

            Dan was a devout Catholic. He was an extremely generous, honest and loving man with a heart of gold. He always wanted to be there to help family and friends.

            Dan learned how to text specifically so he could chat with his brothers and nephews during the games on TV, laughing and sharing the comments with Doris.

            The family would like to thank Tom Stoll, for being there for and with Dan during his last hours.

            Dan was preceded in death by his parents; James “Pecky” and Maryclare Guyer, his brother; Rick “Buzz” Guyer and nephew; Ricky Lind.

            Dan is survived by his loving wife Doris. His instant family of children; Roy (Sammi) Ling, Curtis (Lori) Ling and Kimberly (Mark) Lantinen. Grandchildren; Tricia (Jason), Elya, Hannah (Jose’), Trevor, Rachel (Brandon), Caleb (Cassie), Naomi, Tirzah (Zachary) and Chloe. Great-grandchildren; Adriel, Elisha, Kenai, Phoenix, Lakota and Layla. His brothers; Pat (Tessie) and Tim (Heidy) and sister-in-law; Kris Guyer. Nieces and Nephews; Gino (Laura), Andrew (Calli), Alex, Marina (Tyler), Haley, Molly, Jamie (Cassie), Brina, great-nieces and nephews; Ryan, Tessa, Lily, Leo, Brynn, Grace, Ellie, JJ, Kylah, Maddy and Brady.

            Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the 12:00 Noon, Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, December 23, 2019 in Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Coleraine. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine. Arrangements by the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine.
