Clarence E. Phelps, 72, rural Bovey, died Saturday, March 18, 2023 in the St. Cloud Hospital.
Born October 4, 1950 in Bemidji, he was the son of Paul and Pauline (Jadlowski) Phelps. Clarence grew up in the Side Lake area and attended Hibbing schools. He was a U.S. Navy Sea Bee veteran, had been an over the road truck driver for Jerry Hammond Transportation and retired from C.T. Transportation in 2013. Clarence and Sheila Anderson were married on August 3, 1984, in Grand Rapids and had lived in Greenway Township for over 35 years.
His parents, Paul and Pauline Phelps and two brothers, Paul, Jr. and Donald Phelps preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila; sons, Kenneth (Julie Murkerson) Degel and Jeremy (Jeanie) Phelps; a granddaughter, Clara Phelps; siblings, Wendy (Jack) Waisanen, Teresa (Jerry) Orrell, Tina (Denis) Phelps, Lora Cobb, Michelle (Greg) McAuliffe, Robert (Margarita) Phelps, and Joe (Kim) Phelps; numerous nieces and nephews; and Mitzi.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service on Friday, March 24, 2023 in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine.
