William E. “Bill” Trobec, 82, longtime resident of Coleraine died Friday, July 28, 2017 at home with family by his side. He was born April 3, 1935 to Ernest and Verna (Markwardt) Trobec in Detroit Lakes, MN. He married Joyce Luoma on June 11, 1955 in Bovey, MN. Bill was employed as a super calendar operator for Blandin Paper Co., from 1958-1993 retiring with 35 years of service. He was on the Coleraine Fire Department for 20 years. Bill was a member of the Bovey Moose. His favorite pastimes included; camping, hunting, fishing, going to the casino, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Trobec, Coleraine, MN, children, Gene “Kutch” (LuAnn) Trobec, Coleraine, MN, Barry (Gretchen) Trobec, Coleraine, and Julie (Al) Strenge, Rabey, MN, four grandchildren, Rachael (John) Berghammer, Trout Lake, Mike (Jess) Trobec, Bovey, MN, Seth Trobec, Coleraine, and Rileah Trobec, Coleraine, two great-grandchildren, Jack and Max Berghammer, brothers-in-law, Larry (Jane) Luoma, Coleraine, MN, and Ron Luoma, Moose Lake, MN, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Carol Stafford.
Funeral services for Bill will be 1:00pm, Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the 1:00 pm funeral service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery of Coleraine
