Sally “Chick” Guyer, 66, Taconite, died on Saturday, April 21, 2018 in Kylar Glen, Grand Rapids.
Born April 15, 1952 in Grand Rapids, she was the daughter of George J. and Joyce G. (Hanson) Markovich. Chick grew up in the Lawrence Lake area. Chick and William “Cotton” Guyer were married on November 12, 1971 in Taconite and they lived in Marble and Taconite most of their life. She worked in admitting in area clinics and hospitals where she was blessed with many friendships. Chick enjoyed being in her garden, spending time at the cabin, especially on the pontoon. She loved spoiling her grandchildren and was their biggest fan. Her infectious smile could brighten anyone’s day.
Her parents, George and Joyce Markovich; a brother, Ronald; and a grandson, Jayden Gangl preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, William “Cotton”; daughters, Tara (TJ) Saxhaug of Balsam, Jennifer (Deacon) Kyllander of Taconite, and Joli (Mike Waskosky) Guyer of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Katrina (Tyler Haigh) Kyllander, Reed and Luc Saxhaug, Cejay Howat, and Lillie Waskosky; brothers, George “Butch” Markovich and Sandy “Jughead” Markovich, both of Lawrence Lake; an aunt, JoAnn (Larry) Krause of Grand Marais; brothers and sisters-in-law, Guy (Jean) Guyer of Blackberry and Renee (Steve) Thorson of Austin, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Monday, April 23, 2018 in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine and will continue Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service in the Lawron Presbyterian Church, rural Bovey. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine.
