Michael A. Chupurdia

          Michael A. Chupurdia, 71, Snowball Lake, lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 in his home.

          Born February 14, 1947 in Grand Rapids, he was the son of Nick and Eleanor (Brandstrom) Chupurdia.  Mike was a 1965 graduate of Greenway High School, was an avid hunter, had served in the U. S. Army in Germany, and had been a foreman at Hibbing Taconite, retiring with 28 years of service.  Mike and Diane Kyllander were married on May 9, 1969 in South Dakota.

          His parents, Nick and Eleanor Chupurdia; sisters, Dianne Herwig and Donna Barker, and a brother-in-law, Dick Engelstad, and a nephew, Chadlee Kyllander preceded him in death.

          Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Diane; children, Marc (Marnie) Chupurdia, Kristi Chupurdia Nelson, and Michael Jon Chupurdia; grandchildren, Darian, Michael Duane, Seth, Neko, and Kylie; brothers, Steve (Barb) Chupurdia and Sam (Susan) Chupurdia; a bonus son and family, Brandin and Suzan Olson and their children, David, Nick, Coby, Brody, and Cooper; and his dog Milo.

          Visitation will be 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM memorial service on Monday, August 27, 2018 in the Bethel – Trinity Lutheran Church, Bovey.  Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine.
