LeRoy John Mandich

LeRoy J. Mandich, 77, Marble, MN, died Tuesday, July 17, 2018 in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Duluth, MN surrounded by his wife, Diana Mandich, daughter Joann Mandich, granddaughter, Stephanie Potasnak, and great grandchildren Dominick Wuethrich and Tiffany Mandich.  He was born Feb.5, 1941 in Duluth, MN to Eli and Mary Mandich.  He was a US Marine Corps veteran and after his service he worked as a welder for Butler Taconite and National Steel.  He married Diana Pavich on March 19, 1970 and was a member of the Marble Volunteer Fire Dept. and the Northern Lakes Coin and Currency Club.  He also owned and operated Lee’s U.S. Gas Station in Hibbing for several years.  His favorite times were spent with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He also loved spending time at the cabin, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife Diana, children: Terri (Gary) Rahier of Bovey, MN, Robert Mandich of Chisholm, MN, Cathy (Rod) Petersburg of Russelville, KY, Joann Mandich of Deer River, MN and Tammy (Dennis) Raiter of Mammoth, OR, sisters: Maryann Powers, Judy Gravell, Annette West, his brother Eli Mandich Jr., several grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son LeRoy Mandich Jr., a grandson Stephen Potasnak, his parents and a son in law Greg Adams.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m., Monday July 23, 2018 in the Peterson Funeral Chapel, Coleraine.  Funeral services will begin at 7 p.m. in the funeral home on Monday.
