Kenneth Ronald Poore

Kenneth R. Poore, 84, longtime Marble resident, died Saturday, November 18, 2017.
Born October 10, 1933 in Bovey, he was the son of John and Mildred (Johnson) Poore.  Ken and G. Ann Lutz were married on November 5, 1953 in Bovey and they settled in Marble in August of 1957.  Ken was a 1952 graduate of Greenway High School, worked for Cleveland Cliffs Mining Co. for seven years, was a construction worker in Greenland for four and one-half years, and worked in the Itasca County Road and Bridge department for 19 years, until his health forced him to retire in 1981.  He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Marble, Mary Immaculate Catholic Church of Coleraine, the Greenway Council 5761 of the Knights of Columbus, and an active member of the Marble fire department.
His parents, John Poore and Mildred (Poore) Roberts; his wife Ann in 2012; sons, Alan in infancy and Steven in 2004; and two brothers, Arthur and John preceded him in death.
Survivors include his children, Tom (Chris) Poore and Regina (Bob) Berger, both of Marble, Kenneth John (Kristi) Poore of Warsaw, MN, Mona (Pete Dubovich) Warnke of Calumet, Ruth “Pudie” Poore of Grand Rapids, and Rea (Tom) Campbell of the Twin Cities; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a brother, Alfred of Indiana.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine.  Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine.
