Judith Summers Obituary

Judith A. Summers, 79, Grand Rapids formerly of Coleraine and Pengilly died Wednesday February 13, 2019 at Essentia St. Mary’s in Duluth.  She was born in Austin, MN to Warren and Catherine (Henriksen) Maclaren on July 27, 1939, married Virgel Fretthem and had three daughters.  After the death of Virgel she and the girls moved north of Coleraine to be near her parents and sister.  She worked for the DNR for 28 years. Judith married Mike Summers after moving north.  She and Mike loved their Pengilly home where their family all gathered for many years. She loved camp fires everywhere she went but specifically at her daughter’s lake places with family and friends.  She will be sadly missed by all that knew her.

Judith is survived by her three daughters, Cathy Paulley, Lisa Fretthem, and Gretchen (Barry) Trobec; grandchildren, Jesse and Sarina Paulley, Rachael (John) Berghamer, Mike Trobec, and Promis and Picaboo Rodriquez; great-grandchildren, Katlyn, Jack and Max; sister, Sue (Dean) Jensen; brother, Bruce (Marcia) Maclaren; nieces, Chris (Ken), and Heather; and nephew, John.  She was preceded in death by her first husband Virgel Frettem and her parents.
