Gregory E Johnson

Gregory E. Johnson, 69, Bovey, MN, died Tues. Feb. 6, 2018 in the Essentia Health Care Center, Duluth, MN.  He was born November 14, 1948 in Dodge Center, MN to Harry and Mary Johnson.  Greg enlisted in the Marines in 1965 and finished his two tours in Vietnam in 1969.  When he returned he became an ironworker and eventually opened Johnson Ironworks, in a small garage in St. Paul, MN.  He moved to Bovey in 1986 and worked out of the Millwright Local 1348 in Virginia, MN. In 2000 he married Kimberly Neumann and together they spent many years enjoying their lives together.  Greg also loved to fish, hunt, spend time outdoors, party with his friends and especially spend time with his granchildren.  He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the VFW both in Grand Rapids.

He is survived by his 3 children from his first marriage: Angela Johnson of Minneapolis, MN, Leslie (Dave) Greene of Osceola, WI and Rachael (Mark) Gary of Iron River, WI, his life partner Kimberly Neumann, step children: Joseph Neumann of Coleraine, MN, Nicole (Jesse) Gulbranson of Mt. Iron, MN, and Dalila Arimborgo of Grand Rapids, MN, his brother Edgar Harry (Janet Green) Johnson in Florence,MT, and his grandchildren: Nicholas Lund, Lucas Johnson, Sam Johnson, Lily Greene, Mason Greene, Ihlee Greene, Lexi Gary, Kamry Gary, Mark Gary, Lukan Neumann, Phoenix, Jace and Nikiah Gulbranson, Harmony Folstad, Payton Arimborgo and Leileah Hofer.

Preceded in death by his parents, his brother; Robert Johnson, sister; Pamela Hennes, and best friend, Terry Meyers.
