Dorothy May (Pearson) Remington

          Dorothy M. Remington, 97, longtime Coleraine Third Addition resident, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 18, 2018 in Gold Pine Assisted Living in Bemidji.

          Born May 9, 1921 in Superior, WI, she was the daughter of Ernest O. and Ida S. (Anderson) Pearson.  Her mother passed away when Dorothy was a child and Ernest was eventually re-married to Lucille Lamoro of Hibbing.  Dorothy married Robert C. Remington in Hibbing on January 1, 1945 while he was in the Navy.  Dorothy and Bob enjoyed many years of camping, fishing, and traveling with their family.  As a couple, they were involved in many community activities.  Dorothy was very involved with her Lutheran Church in Coleraine and later Bovey.  Dorothy had worked as a switchboard operator in Hibbing and Coleraine and had been an Avon representative in Coleraine.

          Her parents; her step-mother; her husband, Bob; and her brother, Curtis preceded her in death.

          Survivors include her children, Marcia (Wilson) Naegeli of Bemidji and Ron (Helene) Remington of Annandale, MN; grandchildren, Lori (Rob) Benner of Zimmerman, MN, Paula Capes of St. Cloud, MN, Kris (Tim) Engrav of Britt, and Jodi (Brady) Coulombe of Bemidji; great grandchildren, Brittany (Nate) Fitch, Bailey Benner, McKenzie Capes, Abbigail, Alex, and Asher Engrav; and Emma and Katelyn Coulombe; one great great grandchild, Grace Fitch; and a nephew, Ken (Sheila) Pearson-Smith of Tasmania.

          Visitation will be 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service on Friday, June 22, 2018 in the Bethel Trinity Lutheran Church, Bovey.  Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine.
