Dennis J. Drobnick, 67, Pengilly, MN, died Thur. Feb. 14, 2019 in St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN.
He was born Feb. 21, 1951 in Hibbing, MN, the son of Albert and Jeanne Drobnick. He graduated from Bemidji State College with a degree in Industrial Technology in 1973. He married Bonnie Ridgeway on Aug. 7, 1976 and together they raised two children. Dennis started a career with Hibbing Taconite and worked there for many years, retiring as a foreman. After retirement his love of trains led him to be a mechanic for the trolley at the MN Discovery Center in Chisholm, MN and he also volunteered as a conductor for the North Shore Scenic Railroad. He also loved working on vehicles for friends and family.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie, two daughters: Sarah Drobnick of Seattle, WA and Theresa (Michael) Norris of Chisholm, MN, 2 sisters: Diane (Bruce) Ronchetti of Anchorage, AK and Becky Drobnick of Bovey, MN, 5 grandchildren: Ian, Jemma, Eden, Lincoln and Bexton and his nephews: Adam (Samantha) Ronchetti and Kevin Ronchetti. He also will be missed by his cats: Tristan, Grayson, Cody and Edward.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandchildren Bubby and Beem Beem.
Visitation will be in the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Coleraine, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Wed. Feb. 20, 2019. Burial, at a later date, will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine.
