Arleen J. Howe, 94, longtime rural Bovey resident, died Sunday, July 15, 2018 in the Bigfork Valley Community.
Born November 28, 1923 in Green Isle, MN, she was the daughter of August E. and Lenora (Klanke) Meyer. She attended the Lutheran school in Green Isle and lived on the farm until 1942. Arleen married Harry M. Howe on February 6, 1942 in Glencoe, MN. She was a home maker and co-owner of Howe’s resort on King Lake for 25 years. Arleen enjoyed spending time with family & friends, fishing, making quilts, working with plants, having a garden, and playing cards.
Her parents; her husband Harry; and siblings, Augie and Vince Meyer and Delores (Mickie) Ahlin preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Audrey Brown of Gilbert, MN, Carol (Roger) Radunz of Bovey, MN, and Glen (Jane) Howe of rural Bovey; seven grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and siblings, Jenny Panning, Eunice Smith, and Harlan Meyer.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service on Thursday, July 19, 2018 in the Balsam Bible Chapel. Interment will be in the Balsam Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine.
