Andrew Houg Obituary
Andrew Houg, 32, rural Grand Rapids, passed on to the great beyond on Saturday, December 30, 2017 in the comfort of his home.
Born August 14, 1985 in Grand Rapids, he was the son of Jeffrey and Denise (Payne) Houg. A lifelong resident of Itasca County, he was a 2004 graduate of Grand Rapids High School, was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Cohasset, and worked with his dad as an apprentice plumber. He spent his life among the beautiful trees and lakes of Itasca County. He dedicated his life to the arts as a writer, sculpturer, musician and an avid book reader.
His great grandparents, Lloyd and Velma Robertson and Melvin and Edith Houg, his uncle, Sheldon “Bean” Payne, and a cousin, Melissa Houg preceded him in death.
Survivors include his parents, Jeff and Denise Houg; brothers, David and Daniel Houg, both of Grand Rapids; nieces, Joselyn and Aria Houg; a nephew, Aurelius Houg; and grandparents, Alvin and JoAnne Houg of Grand Rapids, and Pamela Collins of Cohasset.
