Tracey Anderson Obituary

Tracey M. (Potter) Anderson, 57, of Hibbing, MN, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at the Mayo Clinic Hospital, Methodist Campus in Rochester, MN on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 with her loving family by her side.

Born May 11, 1966 in Grand Rapids, MN, Tracey was the youngest of five children to John L. and Vida M. (Pritchard) Potter, Jr.

She was raised in Pengilly, MN. Tracey spent her youth growing up in a close-knit

neighborhood, full of friends, playing games like kick the can, riding motorcycles and swimming in the creek at the golf course. Many of these kids became lifelong friends as they attended elementary and middle school together and finally Greenway High School, where Tracey graduated in 1984.

After high school Tracey attended Hibbing Community College where she received her two-year degree.

Tracey moved to Orr, MN in 1989 where she lived for the next 22 years raising her children.Tracey loved being a mom. She enjoyed being active in her childrens’ lives whether it meant volunteering within their classroom, throwing the best birthday parties possible or sitting on a bleacher or out in the rain, snow, or sun watching them compete in their many different sports.

Throughout her life, she worked multiple clerical types of jobs. She worked for Tom Long and Son Trucking, the Cook Clinic, and various jobs within St. Louis County.

The summertime was Tracey’s time. She enjoyed entertaining and you could always find her on the weekends preparing an assortment of pasta salads and other picnic dishes. Once all the food was made, she would enjoy sitting on her lawn chair soaking up the sun and ending the evening around the bonfire, always surrounded by family and friends.

Tracey moved to Hibbing, MN in 2011. She also gained her favorite title that year when she became Grandma Tracey. Tracey was the happiest when she was surrounded by her

grandkids. Sleepovers at Grandma Tracey’s always included special treats, lots of cuddles, and many board games.

After a few years of dating, she married Bill Anderson on October 7, 2017. Tracey and Bill spent their time together making memories. They enjoyed going to trivia night and meat raffles with their friends, boating around the lake and spending time at friends’ cabins. Tracey also enjoyed quiet evenings at home watching movies with Bill and their little dog Jax.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Vida Potter Jr.
