Temper Payne left the stage at 10:27 AM, Thursday, April 25, 2024.
Temper was born September 19, 1961 in Dearborn, MI the son of William and Pam Payne. Temper moved many times during his childhood. When he settled in Warba in the mid ‘70’s, he met Cheryl Hromyak. They were married on July 25, 1981. On May 21, 1983 they welcomed twin sons; Nicholas and Neal. The family moved to Coleraine in 1989, where Temper started working for the City of Coleraine for 17 years, he then went to the City of Cohasset for 3 years. He was also a volunteer Coleraine Fireman for 12 years. He retired in 2017 after the kidney cancer was diagnosed.
He also loved the outdoors and water sports. Hunting for mushrooms and grouse, wheeling in the woods, and pontooning around Trout Lake.
His true enjoyment was music, he played in many bands. He was an original member of “The Amazing Huckleberry’s” who perform “acoustic Sundays” at the LR.
Temper is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cheryl, sons; Nicholas and Neal (Tia), 4 Grandchildren; Violet, Lucas, Ivy and Trinity. His mother; Pam Collins and siblings; Rita Payne, Denise (Jeff) Houg and Todd (Kathy) Payne.
He was preceded in death by his father; William Payne, brother; Sheldon Payne and infant brother; Dewey Payne.
He battled the cancer for 7 years. No one fought harder! He was a true inspiration. Some even called him, “Superman”.
There will be a Gathering of Family and friends on Sunday May 12, 2024, from 12:00-3:00 PM, in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine with a Celebration of Life beginning at 2:00 PM at the Lockeroom, with plenty of “live” music.
